During the summer, it is magical to watch a storm coming from the horizon. In the distance, you can see the lightning dancing across the sky making the sky light up as if there were thousands of lights shining all over.
However, as the storm comes closer and closer there is nothing exciting about it anymore. The lightning is striking on the ground all around and the trees are popping, cracking and tumbling down. Can God heal a wound so deep that it cuts into the core of your being?
As we traveled down into the Church of Compromise, we could see along the entrance there were strong lamp stands of Perseverance and eloquent columns of Hard Work all which represented the Lord’s heartbeat.
However, on the inside the shepherd had tolerated lies and deception for a long time and he had become part of the major problem as well. He was no longer protecting the sheep from the ravaging wolves but had been deceived himself. He was making excuses for the repetitive sins that were happening and wanted to close a blind eye to the truth. He no longer held firmly to the trustworthy doctrine and refuted those who opposed it. He was unable to hear the Lord’s heartbeat because of the repetitive sins that he was tolerating.
