Spurning The Lord’s Heartbeat

This Really Is Not Sinning

Genesis 3:1Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden?”

Satan is the master at making sin come across as pleasing, beautiful, and brings freedom to fulfill the inner desires of our hearts which say that we are entitled to go after whatever we see and take from others what they have as well. He implies that God is strict, stingy, and selfish and wants to keep us from our freedom to pursue our hearts desires.

As the winds and rain of adversity continue to beat down hard on Bobby and me, we are on the mountain road of a seemingly endless war of anxiety and anger. We constantly are seeking, asking, and knocking at God’s Heavenly door for answers to our circumstances that are running down a slippery muddy mountain road heading straight for the cliff. We keep asking where are the brakes and how do we stop this moving disaster?

Contradiction, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

The Bridge From One Scripture To Another Scripture

As the inner battles continue, I am in a constant quest for a discerning heart to walk by faith and not by sight.

Proverbs 2:6, 10-11For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

Recently, God has put Bobby and me, for the third time, back in the path of a dear loved one. This winding, twisting, turning path we have been on since January 2013 has had more detours, roadblocks and just plain out confusion for us than walking blindfolded within the deep dark forest in the middle of the night with total darkness all around.

Relationship, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Green Light, Yellow Light, Red Light

We have no say on the family we are born into. We can not pick our parents, siblings or other relatives.

Deuteronomy 13 is one of those chapters in God’s Word that makes you stop and say, “Did I just read what I thought I just read?”

Forgiveness, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Confess, Repent

God’s Word still applies to our lives even today. His Word reveals who we are and what we are not. There is nothing left out of God’s Word. We see the good, bad and the ugly.

Hebrews 4:12-13 – For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Discernment, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Matters of the Heart

Several past Presidents of our wonderful country either said or implied that character does not matter.

1 Samuel 16:7But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

God judges by faith and character not appearance. While most of us spend hours maintaining our outward appearance, we should be spending more time developing our inner character.

Pray, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Does Prayer Change Things?

James 4:3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

Do you talk to God? When you do talk to God, is it about your desires, seeking approval for what you already plan to do or are you seeking what God desires for you?

Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat overcomes Darkness

Truth always Revealed

Hebrews 4: 12-13, For the word of God is living and active.

God continually shows me that what is in the dark will come to the light sooner or later, whether it is my own actions and attitudes or others actions and attitudes. God is a God of love, compassion, mercy, and justice. He will not allow sin to continue in any of His children’s hearts.

Factually, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Traits of the Jezebel Spirit

During the summer, it is magical to watch a storm coming from the horizon. In the distance, you can see the lightning dancing across the sky making the sky light up as if there were thousands of lights shining all over.

However, as the storm comes closer and closer there is nothing exciting about it anymore. The lightning is striking on the ground all around and the trees are popping, cracking and tumbling down. The winds have become hurricane force winds tearing and whirling everything that dares get in the way or stop it. After the storm has passed by, the destruction and devastation caused by the storm will take month’s maybe years to rebuild.

Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat brings Restoration

Restored Peter

Were Judas or Peter flawless men? Am I a flawless person? The Christian life is a process of becoming more and more like Christ. In the process of becoming, we must overcome.

Sometimes what we are tempted to do is not wrong in itself. Eve wanted to be like God. This is humanity’s highest goal. However, Satan misled Eve concerning the right way to accomplish this goal. He told her that she could become more like God by defying God’s authority, by taking God’s place and deciding for herself what was best for her life. Satan told her to become her own god.

Was Judas Seeking the Lord’s Heartbeat?

Hypocrite, Judas

Am I a true disciple and follower of Christ, or am I an uncommitted pretender?

It has been over three painful, heart breaking, years since someone I love dearly has called me a hypocrite and other cutting hurtful words. As I unfolded the letter that this individual wrote, I was frozen. I could not believe that I was reading this type of letter from this individual. The words that were in this letter could not be from this person.

The cutting words not only stabbed my heart but it was the statement after the cutting words that have torn my heart into a million pieces. I was told that our relationship could not be restored. There was no explanation for either the cutting words or for our relationship to be cut.
