Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat overcomes Darkness

Truth always Revealed

Hebrews 4: 12-13, For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

God continually shows me that what is in the dark will come to the light sooner or later, whether it is my own actions and attitudes or others actions and attitudes. God is a God of love, compassion, mercy, and justice. He will not allow sin to continue in any of His children’s hearts.

Trials That Examine Our Faith

Bobby and I have been in a bottomless mournful place since January 2013. We have struggled, wrestled, cried, yelled, prayed, and fasted to move heaven and earth for answers from God to understand why He has allowed three different strong raging violent storms to come upon us all at the same time.

In reading Dr. Stanley’s Devotion for January 16, 2017, Testing Builds Endurance, Dr. Stanley asked this question, “ Why Would A Loving Heavenly Father allow His children to go through terrible trials and experience sorrow?” When I read this question, it flooded my soul of a past bitter sweet trial that examined my faith and reminded me that God is trustworthy to see me through all my raging storms whether I caused them or not.

Believing The Lord’s Heartbeat

The “C” Word

Two years after the tragic death of my father, my mother sat me down and told me that she had cancer. This was news that turned our feet toward God not away from Him. My mother did not blame God for my father’s tragic death neither did she blame God for cancer.

James 4:8Come near to God and he will come near to you.

Listening for The Lord’s Heartbeat

The Purpose of Purifying

In the process of refining metals, the raw metal is heated with fire until it melts. The impurities separate from it and rise to the surface. They are skimmed off leaving the pure metal. Without this heating and melting, there would be no purifying. As the impurities are skimmed off the top, the reflection of the worker appears in the smooth pure surface. As we are purified by God, His reflection in our lives will become more and more clear.

1 Peter 1:6-7In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith, of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire, may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Purifying- Restore/Consume

Mom and Monica Dale Staples

Mom and Monica Dale Staples

As the hands of time moved from my childhood into my young teen years, the road my mother was traveling opened wide and dark into the sea of a massive hidden volcano deep in the sea of guilt, despair, anger, loneliness, and desperation.  She had followed God for five years after the death of my father. She and I were going to church and she would read God’s Word to me. The Lord’s Heartbeat was clear during those years.

Proverbs 26: 24-26A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit. Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart. His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
