Nature, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

God’s Creation and His Word reveal His Greatness

Recently, Bobby and I had an opportunity to answer a calling to the mountains. Our favorite place to go for that calling is Vogel State Park.

Vogel State Park is beautifully nestled at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest near Blairsville, Georgia.  The clear crisp streams, creeks, lake and waterfall brings a quiet calmness to our souls and reminds us that God is in complete control of our lives as well as His creation.

As we are purified by God, His reflection in our lives will become more and more clear.

1 Peter 1:6-7In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith, of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire, may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Can You Find The Lord’s Heartbeat In The Consuming Fire?

Consuming fire: God’s Wrath or Purifying Us

Deuteronomy 4:24For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.God is morally perfect. He hates sin and cannot accept those who practice it. Sin keeps us from entering God’s presence.

Leviticus 10:1-2Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.
