In Psalm 68:5, God tells us that He is a Father to the fatherless.
On this day sixty years ago, you, my husband of forty years, began a journey of unforeseen winds of adversities. These winds of adversities prepared you for the springs and streams you have had to cross and the valleys and mountains you have had to climb.
As I am preparing this post for my Blog, Hurricane Irma is creating a strong destructive path through our country, and she will leave her mark in history that cannot and will not be forgotten. The number of lives, property and possessions that are destroyed cannot be measured with money, words, or emotions.
Just as Irma will and has caused devastation beyond our human ability to fully understand, the Hurricane Irma’s in our personal lives can and do have lasting scars as well.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 – What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
Tomorrow is my earthly father’s birthday. It is difficult for me to view him at the age of eighty nine since he left this earth at the age of thirty seven. I have limited memories of him since I was just seven when he died.
John 16:21 – A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.
When God let me know that I was pregnant with our second child, Bobby and I had mixed emotions. Our first child came into this world with several medical issues and some of those medical concerns were still being addressed. Not only were there medical issues with our first child, but our first child was only going to be fifteen months old when our second child was born.
Our first child required enormous amounts of attention because of his medical situation. My mother nor Bobby’s mother lived close so they could not help on a regular basis. By the time Bobby arrived home from work, I was beyond tired physically and emotionally.
Today is a loved ones birthday. This loved one has not had the opportunity to know Bobby and me but we love this one deep in the center of our hearts.
When the raging storms started January 2013, God provided us with several Scriptures to stand firmly on. As time has marched on and the intensity of the storms has at times threatened to drown us, God has provided the shelter of His loving arms to shield us.
