Exposing The Coward
Isaiah 29:13, 15 – The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.” Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think, “Who sees us? Who will know?”
Isaiah 5:20-21 – Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own sight.
Several weeks back Bobby and I received something in the mail that had belligerent, callous, compulsive, deceitful and malicious written all over it. We could tell immediately that it was the crafty slimy foul work of Satan. We saw his defiled paws and could smell his reeking odor all over the outside of the envelope as well as what was on the inside.
Sin thrives in an environment of darkness, lies and secrets.
Job 24:13-17 – There are those who rebel against the light, who do not know its ways or stay in its paths. When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up and kills the poor and needy; in the night he steals forth like a thief. The eye of the adulterer watches for dusk; he thinks, “No eye will see me, and he keeps his face concealed. In the dark, men break into houses, but by day they shut themselves in; they want nothing to do with the light. For all of them, deep darkness is their morning; they make friends with the terrors of darkness.
Bobby and I recognized the contaminated paw prints of Satan even before we opened the envelope. He is a number one Coward and extremely repulsive. The way the envelope was addressed was improper and violated several of God’s Commandments and there was no return address on the envelope, Coward.
Besides the outside of the envelope being revolting, what was on the inside was even more polluted with Satan’s stench. On the inside of this envelope was filled with hate, disrespect, dishonor, discord, jealousy, witchcraft, selfish ambition, dissension, haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who stirs up dissension among brothers and a flattering mouth that works annihilation.
After Bobby and I realized what was in the envelope, we did what God instructed us to do. We turned to God and His Word. Isaiah 37:14-20– v-14-15, 20 Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord. Now, O Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all kingdoms on earth may know that you alone, O Lord, are God.
Hebrews 4:12-13 – For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him whom we must give account.
Since January 2013, the cunning vile schemes of Satan have tried to knock us off our feet. We have stumbled but God continually picks us up and strengthens our faith with His amazing Presence and His unfailing Word.
Psalm 28:3-5 – Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts. Repay them for their deed and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back upon them what they deserve. Since they show no regard for the works of the Lord and what his hands have done, he will tear them down and never build them up again.
There was one more Scripture God revealed to us after we laid this piece of mail before Him. After I read this Scripture, God reminded me of an individual in my grandmother’s life as well as my mother’s life and her siblings.
