Beginning, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

A letter of remembrance to and for a special person God delivered to us March 28, 1980

Happy Birthday

Jeremiah 1:5The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

Psalm 139:13-16For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother, Monica’s, womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

God gives each individual talents and skills, but to a child of God, He provides spiritual gifts. These spiritual gifts are to be used for the purpose that God has set apart that individual to do for the glory of God and His Kingdom.

1 Corinthians 3:8-9The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

God gifts some of His children to plant the seed of the gospel in people’s hearts. He calls others to water, to help the believers grow stronger in the faith.

1 Corinthians 3:11-13 – For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work.

A building is only as solid as its foundation. Two ways of destroying a building are to tamper with the foundation, compromising or diluting your faith, de-emphasize the divine nature of Christ or the inspiration of the Bible, make decisions based on human judgment not of prayer and Biblical guidance, and to build with inferior materials, impurities, hatred, discord, jealousy, selfish ambition, dissensions and envy.

As a child of God, we prayed that our special one would build his life on God’s Word and build God’s Word into his life and heart.

2 Timothy 2:14-26– v-20-21 –  In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

God called our special one to be the kind of person Christ could use for His noblest purposes. He does not want His child to settle for less than His highest and best.

God’s highest and best is a solid foundation built with high quality materials, gold, silver, and costly stones which are right doctrine, God’s Word and right living, Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control, that meet God’s standards.

This letter is a Birthday prayer for our dear son. He will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy and useful to the Master.
