Resilience, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Woe is Me or Over Comer

Psalm 23:4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

My mother gave me many lessons during my life with her. She was an amazing cook and seamstress.  Seamstress was one of those lessons I did not learn at all.  However, there were two lessons that I just recently came face to face with. She showed me how to walk through the valley of the shadow of death and never ignore the white elephant standing in the living room.

Foundation, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Faith People

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 – For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.”

Protector, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

 Personal Experience with Flesh People

I have to learn how to navigate my way around Face book. I am not much of a fan for social media, but because of the path that God has put Bobby and my feet on I have a Face book page.

Unfortunately, I received a message from an individual that has caused me great sadness. At first, I was enraged at this individual. 2 Timothy 4:17-18But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength… And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. And the Lord will rescue me from every evil attack.

Fiery Arrows, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Flesh People

Isaiah 43:2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Since January 2013, Bobby and I have passed through the waters of great sorrow. We have passed through the rivers of mighty brokenness and we have walked through the fire of overwhelming persecution.

Glass Slipper, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

True Cinderella

Bobby and I have been reading Jentezen Franklin’s Book “Right People Right Place Right Plan” as well as his devotion book that goes along with this book.

In Jentezen’s devotional book, he has several devotions about a girl who’s status went from orphan to queen.  In reading these devotions, I thought about Walt Disney and his fairy tale character, Cinderella. Jentezen commented, “Yet, God selected this orphan girl, fresh from the hills. Like Cinderella, her foot ‘fit the glass slipper,’ and she found favor with the king.”

Requirements, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

What Does God Expect From His True, Genuine Children?

Deuteronomy 10:12-13And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.

When God first put this Blog on my heart, I did what I always do when I am being stretched out of my comfort zone. I argue and wrestle with Him.

Sand or Rock, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

What Makes Satan the Maddest?

We have all met individuals with a charismatic personality. These individuals are eloquent, persuasive and smooth talkers with abundant knowledge of God’s Word. They have their Bibles, shirts, necklaces and other outward appearances to sway you into thinking that they are extremely religious.  They can even quote many Scriptures and reference other’s religious sayings on social media since Sunday after Sunday they park themselves in their church pews. These individuals can bring the erupting volcano of emotions to convince you that they are true, genuine followers of Christ.

Belief System, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Know What You Believe

When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was nine, I have never doubted at anytime that I was going to spend eternity with Jesus. However, I have questioned and even been down right pushy with Him about certain situations and circumstances in my life since I made my profession of faith.

Watching, Seeking The Lord’s Heartbeat

Wrong People In Your Boat

2 Corinthians 6:14Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

My mother and I had many troubled years because she yoked herself with darkness. She did not purposely steer her boat in the direction of the murky waters of evil. However, Mother allowed the emotion of loneliness to blind her to a smooth talking flatterer with a strong Jezebel spirit.
